St. George’s day. Dragon
Slayers r’US,
Whilst Hackers Live!
By Nicholas Ashton, RFUSION
Yes, Great
Britain is celebrating St. George’s Day still!
St. George is the patron saint of
England. His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England,
and part of the British flag. St George's emblem was adopted by Richard the
Lion Heart and brought to England in the 12th century. The king's soldiers wore
it on their tunics to avoid confusion in battle.
Hang on,
are there not more important things to be protected than slaying
dragons? Of course, there are! Most Brits have no earthly idea who George,
is, expect and a young prince dragging his parents around Australasia, patting
bunnies.
I bet most
of them do not know that Shakespeare was born on 23 April 1564 and he died on
the same day in 1616. Which was
thoughtful of him!
It seems
there are two corners that are playing opposite ends of the park, the IT
what’ it’s, who do nothing than talk about it and they still do nothing. They did not create the solution, so they
pick it apart, trying to come up with an excuse on why it will not work and how
it should Beta tested until 2050.
In the
other corners are the CEO’s and Board Members who are warned, ignore and have no
earthly idea what these computer attacks are all about and look like three
monkeys in suits.
Sorry, ignorance is
not an excuse when you put mere mortals through hell and back, when
their bank account is lifted, monies were stolen, their personal information going
and being sold and used by computer terrorists.
This third group watches on, the public, that gets affected the most, the General Public, us! We bear the brunt of inept management who
pretend there are no computer issues and turn the other cheek. In fact, they are just showing their ass to
what they think of us.
