Corruption Begets, Corruption... Houses of Cards Are Tumbling...

Corruption Begets, Corruption
Houses of Cards Are Tumbling...
By Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group Global

Is it me, or is there a sudden surge of corrupt situations, which when they start explaining, dig a deeper hole for us to bury them in?

I will not mention the Clintons... as they are digging their own hole, deeper and deeper...

The US Government is being exposed on three major fronts and even more, are being uncovered at every turn.  The British are about to be headline news with a government scandal regarding sexual abuse and fudging the numbers.  The French, well it is the same old same old, taxes and more taxes.  Now Belgium, with Brussels being the seat of the European Parliament has so many House of Cards that even a small breeze will cause them all to come tumbling down.

The media is scrambling to be first with all the latest dirt-dishing, since one of their own was a target and any dig of criminal connections is a winning headline.

Poor so-called sexual abusers...

Corporately, a business must understand that you don’t have the luxury of a cover-up strategy as politicians do, even the ones in the Big House.  Nor should you think that way!

Success, profit, and harmony are the perfect way to conduct business.  Employing the right people and achieving a relationship that has longevity has been striving for since time began.  Unfortunately, humans and greed got in the way!  The path to success and harmony with a little profit thrown in is still here and CommSmart Global Group will bring you to that point.

It is about hiring the right people in the first place saves you money and increases productivity.  Teaching those within your company a skill set of Leadership and Communications, further enhances your success.

IMPORTANT! Chrome Physical Web Changes!

 Oct 25, 2017

Michal Mocny, Google

Folks,

Over the last few years, Physical Web features have piecewise graduated out of our small project within Chrome and into EddystoneNearby & Notifications, and the Beacon platform.  With the majority of our original work now built into the Android platform, it’s now time to clean up a few remaining Physical Web features from Chrome:

  • Physical Web scanning will no longer be included in the revamped iOS Widget in M62.
  • We will be disabling our omnibox experiments in Chrome for Android.
  • We will remove remaining Physical Web settings and diagnostics pages from Chrome.

These remaining Chrome features haven't had the uptake to suggest that Chrome UI is the right place to surface beacons.  The iOS widget was a useful tool for demos but was not actively used by many real users near beacons.  The omnibox experiments were a hopeful project but did not have much impact in practice.

These changes are only to the way that the Chrome browser scans for beacons; otherwise, the various beacon functionality across Google products -- including Nearby, the developer APIs for app integrations, and use of beacons as a location signal across Google products -- are unaffected.

I’d like to take this chance to review how far we’ve come.

In 2015, we evolved the URIBeacon project into Eddystone-URL, completing our goal of creating a truly great open URL beacon format.  It has since become hugely popular, and usage is continuing to grow.  We added our first PW feature into the iOS Widget, as an exploration and as a signal to the world.  We started working with the Nearby team on the grand idea of having the Android platform itself offer a scanner for all nearby relevant content.

In 2016, we added Physical Web to Chrome for Android and was our first attempt at using Notifications to help users become aware of beacon content.  When Nearby shipped, Physical Web results became available to tenfold more users.

Today, Android users can discover Nearby content without installing an app, and Nearby Notifications, when paired with good content that is relevant to users, can have massive aggregate reach and impact.  On iOS, many developers have also added URL beacon scanning to their own scanner apps as a way to add proximity context, benefitting from the flexibility of URLs, such as server-side content management.

We're excited to watch as you build on the platform that's available to you, and to see where you take the standard.

The End! Gone Home...

The End!
Gone Home...
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

Death is guaranteed, everyone and everything will die eventually, it is how we get to that finality that is totally different for us all.

Sylvia Marjorie Ashton passed away on October 25th, 2017 and suffers no more.

My Mother had suffered over the last few years with Parkinson's, which has now taken its toll in the worst way with other medical issues.

Being 4,217 miles away and other members of the family there, doing all they can is difficult mentally.  It is now a waiting game whilst doctors are relieving her major pain problems with high doses of morphine.

We are a family spread around the world and communications via Smartphones, texts and 'live' video calls is our way of knowing, understanding and just waiting for the call regarding our Mother.

As the eldest, I am closer to one brother than the rest of our large family of diverse eight siblings and he and I talk much more. For him, he has been the one dealing with the day to day ways of looking after her, which I know has not been easy on him or his family.  Don't get me wrong, all have pitched in and assisted in every possible way.

Death comes in many forms, you think it is just like a switch turning out a light, that simple, it is, of course, not.

This woman does not deserve to be in such a place, hovering between life and death.  The doctors are attempting to ease the issue for her regarding pain, but those that love her are in the same in-between conflicts of can we assist in other ways.

This is a daily and hourly occurrence faced by everyone in this ever-changing world.

I just wish...

Wishes and prayers do get answered...

See Something, Say Something In Regard To Harvey Weinstein & Other Sex Offenders In Our Midst

See Something, Say Something In Regard To
Harvey Weinstein & Other Sex Offenders In Our Midst

Acceptance for sexual abuse and other offenses are just another example of our personal failure in reporting actions by others, including terrorism, law-breaking, pure anti-social occurrences, and behavior.

Weinstein is a sexual offender and on many occasions, which no one said anything whatsoever!  If they did, they have been brushed aside because of who Weinstein is in the Movie industry.  His so-called power and money!

Yes, times have changed, even more so with anti-social social media coming into play.  It does not mean all forms of lawbreaking are acceptable.

Weinstein is not alone in these disgusting sexual acts of aggression, he was and still is surrounded by others in the corporate world who knew it all and even emulated his sexual actions towards women.

The Weinstein Sexual Power Group dominate and control women with pure sexual manipulation.  It is not just in the upper echelon of society, it is on the high streets, neighborhoods, and right next door to you.

See Something, Say Something, please listen to those who have been abused, check their stories because there are those that only verbally tell a tale and use to harm innocent people.

Those that 'jump on the bandwagon' when these events are reported are many.  We must listen and use evidence to prove these claims and investigate to the fullest extent of the law in all cases.

See Something, Say Something on all levels is required to maintain safety and security levels!

It's Time to REALLY Listen to 'We The People'

It's Time to REALLY Listen to 'We The People'
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

We all need to heed the wisdom of our founding fathers to form a more perfect union.

We the people ask for liberty and justice for all. The people speak, the media presses, activists protest, but the government does not redress the people's grievances or wants and needs, or so they think!

Are the words of our founding fathers to be cherished, assimilated and begotten or should these words be perished, repudiated and forgotten?

In this unsocial social media driven world, it is more than the words in a survey or comments from a distant politician, it is about our surroundings, where we live, shop and play. Groups of county or city leaders must know the pace of society, their desires, unrest, and goals. It is more demanded today that even three years ago!

Sure, the global picture is not a pretty sight and we cannot change the bigger picture all on our own, but we can on a local basis, which are the building blocks that are required.

Iowa has a distinctive connection to listening and Washington politicians knew it!

Back in the late 1800's and early 1900's, there were more politicians in Washington D.C. from Iowa than anywhere else, remember, the mid-west was dominating back then. So when questions regarding political issues were being asked, the comment came back, 'I have no idea, ask Iowa!' Which they did and Iowans back then, shaped a lot of the grassroot issues.

Asking questions and having the ability to answer has always been the Iowa way, and must continue today. Times might have changed and so has our connection to our citizens, they all have a communications device in the palm of their hand and it is not just a phone, it is a Smartphone!

These Are Not Tears of Joy...

These Are Not Tears of Joy...
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

As we all age, some worse than others, we reflect on our lives and how we basically have all 'fucked up' along the way.  Though really never wanted to admit it in public, we all know our dark dank secrets that we keep locked away in seclusion, hoping they stay that way.

Right, Weinstein?

Oh if only the politicians, religious zealots, nutjob murders, movie producers, and corporate gods were listening, would this be a better world?  I think not, it has been unsocially entrenched since water was turned into wine.

Since we all got on this social media bandwagon that has caused civil unrest, compact world wars and more divorces than imaginable, no two days are the same.  Innocent incidents like a road accident where people are hit on the high street, immediately seen as a jihadist plot or a car backfiring resonate as a terror attack, simple innocent events that mean fear is amplified among us all.

Where the hell did we go wrong, Mark Zuckerberg?

Let's face it, social media is responsible for more deaths, suicides, divorces, and drug overdoses than your God wishes to admit too.

It is the beginning of another week and what lies ahead is truly unknown.  Only those that have planned horrific acts and waiting for the right time to enact the planned atrocities, shock us and to be a headline for a week, replacing all the 'Fake News' syndromes.

So what is the next dismal headline?
