The Ten What?

I Just Met Moses…
By Nick Ashton, CEO/Founder, Tracometry Group of Companies.

Standing under the towering 1900’s chimney of an old school building, in a dark parking lot, on a below freezing evening, with your breath in front of you, is a shivering moment, but not one that brings goose bumps and that feeling you have been here before.

You are in the shadow of this safe house, a place young folks can feel a little safer than in their homes and on the streets.  It is an old school building converted into a church that has three stories that costs too much to heat and needs a good clean and lick of fresh paint.  The heart of the organization is higher than any of us and the individuals that are management, have hearts of gold and no wallet to match it.

The large wooden door was opened as the waiting kids parted, we entered the corridor that leads to rooms that hold the opportunity for a future. The basketball court, stage and bleachers acts as a church on Sundays, the basement has skateboarders weaving, the games room might have a few hustlers on cue.  This not only entertains these young people, it teaches, advises and gives them a chance to be among people who care, understanding that life today is far from the cakewalk some make it out to be.

Last evening, thirty-two children with issues that they have no idea they have, were under one roof, all for the same reason, to play, chat, feel good about themselves and be among adults that care and show them a whole different side of life.  The ability to not be looking over their shoulder on what is behind them, even in their own home, if they are lucky enough to have one.

Some have issues and characteristics that are concerns, bullying exists, social acceptability of their attitudes and lifestyles.  They are of all ages from 13 through 19, six years of separation for growing, seeking and wanting more than they have right now.  Their dress is simple to eclectic, from Goth to Low Riders, skin colors to tattoos, all under one roof for basically the same reason.  Help to get through the week, Friday is their day to be able to be under that one roof, for the right reasons, with the right people.

Oh, I mentioned Moses, before we got to see the kids, we had a meeting with the management and volunteers and Moses was there.  The evening’s plan was laid out and job assignments issued and Moses, listened, did not say a word and just took it all in.

As expected in this day and age, he had his smart phone in hand and intently manipulated the keyboard as we spoke.  It was the point when he placed the corner of the blue phone in his mouth.  It was that action made his mother make him stop!

Moses is a two year old young man, whose Mother is on staff and Moses is seeing it all.  It is with his eyes that we need to view what is going on with our youth and what possible future they have.

Moses, a picture of innocence and undivided attention to the issues at hand.  Over the last decade the world has radically changed, once upon time our children would be having it better than us, no more, no chance and no way.
We have to help the Moses' of the world and those that have gone before him and those that are yet to emerge and take their first breath.

Our nations, communities, families and life itself, hang in a dire balance.  I believe Moses has more than just smart phones/tablets, he has communicated through his actions, including sucking on a smart phone and his eyes reaching out in such a simple manner.

Our Pied Piper Project was developed with Moses in mind, it is just that we had never met him until last night.  It is the philanthropic successful business owners, CEO’s, Presidents, do-gooders that want to have a legacy in ultimate change I want to talk with.

This is not just one opportunity, it is every city USA.

This Is About You!

Community Change

community change video blog

Do me a favor, take a good look around you, what do you see?  Does it look normal to you?  Okay, so the street is quite, calm and what is going on behind the closed doors has nothing to do with you.  You, like the majority keep yourself to yourself, right?  You don’t like sticking your nose in other people’s business, right?  So the world can go to hell in a hang basket and it is none of your business, right?

WRONG!

We all know that perfection is impossible, but tell that to the politicians and celebrities!  No, it is possible to bring back trust and strive for near perfection.  In your life time, many things have changed and seemed to have changed overnight.  Back in my day as a child, summer holidays in Britain seemed much longer and far warmer, they were not.  The prices also didn’t seem so high and people respected each other, saying please and thank you, yes sir, no sir, you know what I mean.  It is about respect and trust which in this decade has gone!  Not gone forever, but on the back burner, waiting to be reignited to glow once more.

I keep hearing people say this is the land of plenty…plenty of what?  We have plenty hunger, homelessness, ignorance, uneducated, truancy, murder, rape, domestic and drug abuse, boarded up houses, poverty, unemployment, doom and gloom and the list goes on.

One thing we do have is plenty of hope and expectation, which is where you come in.

Let me explain, our neighborhoods and communities are not the same as they use to be.  In fact, they were better in Charles Dickens’s days.  It has a lot to do with intelligence, day to day life and the inner workings of a true family.

What happened is not the question, it what we must do to bring back the trust and respect in the family, no matter if it is a one or two parent situation, the streets, business, co-workers and pride in what we can achieve, change will occur with a little bit of work.

The Pied Piper Project (P3)Involving a proven revival of communities and neighborhoods, effectively bringing back Trust and Respect for All.  Using existing city codes and laws to clean up the problems in a few short months.  It uses the community police, drug/gang units, housing/code enforcement, animal control and local interfaith or inner city youth, parenting, employment and education programs.

This includes a facility that is not only a mentoring center, it includes teaching skills, life examples, business and trade opportunities by their one on one involvement.

It is the START of the REST of THEIR LIVES!

The business opportunities include catering, gardening, furniture restoration, white goods, such as dishwashers, stoves, washers and dryers, and refrigerators. All under the watchful eye of trained retired individuals that want to give back and assist in the next journey for all.

Crime can and will be reduced by intervention with the families of the criminals and our program confronts the known offenders, who are shown the facts of their activities and what will happen to them if they continue.  The front cover unsigned warrant will say it all.  They have to sing and play our music or the consequences will be enacted severely.

recoupeit is about reuniting revenues for a municipality or city.  Monies that have not been collected reduce what the financial side of the city can do for the citizens.  We include professional collections from the municipal courts, parking/booting fines and other general debt, including sales and property taxes.  This pays for the services and technology that law enforcement requires today and includes our 24/7 RAIDSONLINE, this is the analytical side of what we do.  Knowledge is everything and with our crime analytics, tracking, calls for service and next event predictability, law enforcement has all the necessary tools at their fingertips.

recoupeit collects the debts to the city and allows them to have the technology to protect and serve, bringing back the trust and respect to the neighborhoods.

So we are here waiting to make that change with you…

Did YOU Get the Email?

1, 5 or 100 Percent, which are you?
By Nick Ashton, CEO/Founder, Tracometry Group of Companies.

I not interested in low level input!  Commitment is all I ask!  We are all part of the masses and those that just follow are not really contributing to society.  We all have a position and it is always a leadership position.

I am not interested in followers in any sense of the word, socially or intellectually.  It is Leemings that commit mass suicide by jumping off the cliff and they are all followers.  It is leadership, conversation, ideas and innovation that wins through.

In politics it always amazes me, that a single house or congress member is gung-ho on making that difference, the power of one, so to speak, they can only make their opinion heard, not physically enact the final change in making other vote or raise their hand.

So, ARE YOU ALL IN?

If someone is telling you that you part of the 1 or 5% out of millions, what does that really mean?  Merely you are a flea on an elephant's back!

I want real leaders in a team who are all in. In sports, coaches want players who are all in on the teams. Every single organization in the world wants employees who are team members and all in.

I played football (soccer), rugby, cricket and track/field and belonged to the drama group. All required the ability to be all in and a full team player.

Being ALL IN as a true leader means:

1. You don’t look at the hands or digital read on the clock, you are not punching a controlling time card. Your role is not defined by that traditional 9 – 5 attitude. You are a trusted and respected member of the team.

2. You get it done in a professional and timely manner. You are the manager/controller of your life, meaning that no one else has to worry about whether you are going to perform for all.

3. You know you are part of the larger vista than just yourself, and unassumingly accomplish the targeted goals because of an inner motivation.

4. Giving just that minimum amount of needed effort required to achieve, never even crosses your mind.

5. Your daily work-load and excellence is accomplished with pure motives. You are not worried about climbing the ladder or just impressing anyone. Although, a controlled ego is an excellent motivator.

6. We is much more important than me. If I win, the whole team wins. If the team wins, I win. Second place is not all bad either.

7. You are more than willing and motivated to improve on a daily basis. Getting restored at what you do is not a choice, it’s a requirement. We must learn every single day.

8. You maintain a high standard of excellence because the team/organization/brand demands it. It is you and you don’t want to let anyone else down on the team. It is not peer pressure, it is your lifestyle.

9. The vision compels you to greatness. Not the opposite as I have heard- saying, your greatness compelling the vision. Many leaders get this extremely backwards.

10. Your intentions and goals are very clear. I know what I’m getting, and I’m never concerned about any other motives.

So, is your 100% on board?

It is the SUM of the All that makes the difference!
