Merry Christmas & Happy New Year To All.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year To All.

It is the waning of another year, 2016 is about to be history and future year of 2017 is just around the corner.  We will have fond memories, successes, tragedy, heartache and unfulfilled dreams all to look back on and it will bring tears of joy and some major disillusionment to us all.

We must take that deep breath, suck it in, cowboy up and step forward with more gusto than ever before.  We collectively will not allow the negative vibes that surround us from those that do not see the same masterpiece as we do and would wish we fail.

To our enemies, thank you for showing the negativity and whilst they scorn us with their obscene energy, we accept, as they are concentrating on just us and not their own business.  We, on the other hand, are concentrating our positive power and professionalism.  It is our goal to serve our clients new, old and those who will be introduced to us over the coming years.

To those who have joined our group of companies, I thank you and look forward working hand in hand with you.  Our success is a joint effort and communications is of the utmost importance.

This Christmas and Holiday Season is special to us one and all and we share this with our families, we shall see you in the New Year to expand our relationships, success, and discussions.

Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New year to All…

WE are in the NOW and KEEP YOU; in the KNOW…

Off the Shelf Programmed Killers

Off the Shelf Programmed Killers
By Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group – Virtual Crime Center

Yesterday, we saw mayhem of terror globally!

Daily there are assassinations, Beheading, Shooting at a Mosque, Truck and car Terrorism and anything else you want to throw at Soft targets!

Killers are trained, programmed and to what degree it does not matter.  They are either sophisticated or uneducated, they are there to take life, draw attention to a cause, whether they live or die themselves, just one programmed task, cause mayhem in the Western World on behalf of a worldwide revolutionary goal, TERROR!

Our team's expertise goes back to the Irish Republican Army (IRA) days, murders, bombing both in Northern Ireland and on the U.K. mainland.  Having either served in the London Metropolitan Police and the British Army, we have frontline experience of terrorism and use that hard and soft skill sets daily!

Since the birth of social media, there has been a dearth of fanatical posting by terrorists who are about to attack the Western World.  These are posted prior to attacks, can we know that these posts occur?

Yes, CommSmart Global Group’s Virtual Crime Center which includes Social Media Monitoring looks at social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and videos posted to YouTube.

It is not just looking it is examining all words, locations and with perfected algorithms informing us in ‘real time’ of issues and concerns, even down to the GPS location and includes the ability to Geofence for tight drilling down on social or anti-social sources.

It is our crime analytics, predictive analysis and down to earth capabilities with the largest public data storage globally that will stop or quell these attacks.

There is no one who else that can achieve this.

CommSmart Global Group, a LexisNexis Risk Solutions Partner is the key with nearly fifty years of policing, crime-fighting and counterterrorism understanding that is the professional key to securing and protecting our communities.

The Ohio State University student who posted a rant shortly before he plowed a car into a campus crowd and stabbed people with a butcher knife in an ambush that ended when a police officer shot him dead.

Abdul Razak Ali Artan, 18, wrote on his Facebook page that he had reached a "boiling point," made a reference to "lone wolf attacks" and cited radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.  These are the sort of ‘keywords’ that we drill down on and our solutions highlight in ‘real time’.

"America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially Muslim Ummah [community]. We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that," the post continues.

Two hours before that, a cryptic post on the page said: "Forgive and forget. Love."  All keywords that are ‘Red Flags’!  It is also our knowledge of other keywords used to mask what they are really saying and to hide their death messages.  That is the difference and is required to fight terror and street crime.

A police officer was on the scene within a minute and killed the assailant, saving lives, university officials said. "He engaged the suspect and eliminated the threat," OSU Police Chief Craig Stone said.

Law enforcement officials stated that Artan was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident.

He lived briefly in a temporary shelter in Dallas before settling in Ohio, according to records maintained by Catholic Charities.  To these charities, do we have questions!

President Trump has stated he wants ‘Extreme Vetting’ and here is the perfect example of finding out what the Catholic Charity actually knew or even asked of this refugee.

Artan attended Columbus State Community College for two years, graduating cum laude with an associate's degree before moving on to Ohio State to continue his studies. He told a campus publication that on his first day at OSU, he was "kind of scared" to pray in public.

"If people look at me, a Muslim praying, I don't know what they're going to think, what's going to happen," Artan was quoted as saying in the Lantern.

What else was he saying that was known to others?  As we know, others will in the next few days come forward and tell us tales of how they felt something was wrong.  They did nothing to report this as most humans do not.  It so important that if you ‘See Something, Say Something’.  Law enforcement is not super humans and needs the public support.

The campus was put on lockdown for 90 minutes after the university first reported an "active shooter" in the chaos of the moment.  Which it was not and as usual the media continued to report an ‘active shooter’ issue for hours.  Reporting must be verified before reporting as misinformation causes unnecessary further panic.

"Run Hide Fight," the university's emergency management office tweeted. "Continue to shelter in place."  This was the most excellent example of using social media to communicate a ‘call for action’, which was heeded as students hunkered down in classrooms with shades drawn across the 2,000-acre campus.
This is not the last terror event that will happen.

Digital Policing is here NOW and we have dedicated our resources to provide the proven solutions that are demanded.

CommSmart Global Group brings you, Accurint® Virtual Crime Center

Linking data into one interface to provide critical investigative intelligence and crime reporting.

For generations, law enforcement agencies have been seeking to have an investigative tool that would link data on people, places, vehicles, and phones into one interface for them to better predict and solve the crime. That tool is nowhere with Accurint® Virtual Crime Center.

CommSmart Global group brings you Accurint Virtual Crime Center and is the next generation policing platform used for COMPSTAT, Analytics, Crime Analysis and Investigations. This solution links billions of public records to agency-provided data in a cross-jurisdictional data exchange to provide law enforcement with unprecedented visibility into crime in their own jurisdiction and around the country. Linking across data types delivers a more comprehensive view into an identity, helping law enforcement to target investigations; identify patterns and predict upcoming events, and deploy resources more efficiently.

Criminals have no boundaries.
Accurint Virtual Crime Center will provide agencies with a view beyond their own jurisdictions into regional and nationwide crime data. Each year, about 12% of the population moves a statistic that is even higher for young adults. To predict and solve crime patterns, you need visibility not just to the jurisdiction next door, but across the country. The ability to view information such as crime incident data, CAD, offender data, crash data and license plate readers in the same place will assist in resolving and preventing crimes in a timely manner.

Finding the “who” in an investigation. Uncovering and locating key individuals are vastly simplified through Accurint Virtual Crime Center. By adding our proprietary linking technology, LexID®, to agency data, you will have cross-jurisdictional agency data linked to identity information from over 10,000 sources. This gives your law enforcement agency the ability to disambiguate RMS records, find non-obvious connections, and generate leads with one search.

Flexible views for all users within an agency.
Accurint Virtual Crime Center allows you to design your dashboard for your role within the agency. Whether you are a part of a command staff, supervisor, investigator or analyst, you will have the ability to search across all your own data and public records information while using the same predictive policing capabilities from Accurint Crime Analysis. Accurint Virtual Crime Center will replace multiple tools agencies currently use for public records, data analytics, and social media, allowing all members of the agency to be more efficient across all cases through strong data analytics.

Social Media Monitoring
We know that social media is increasingly valuable to the way law enforcement professionals operate in both crime prevention and investigation. However, as social media has become more prevalent, there remain many questions regarding how exactly it is utilized to optimal effect in criminal investigations.
Looking at current practices and processes and how the landscape has changed over the last two years in addition to new research areas.

Assessing the law enforcement community – particularly those involved in crime investigations – and their understanding of, proclivity to use, and actual use of social media in law enforcement efforts. We must understand current resources and processes being used by law enforcement when leveraging social media intelligence in investigations.

Social Media Monitoring is the key with the massive public data records we have exclusively and when used in concert with our full CommSmart Global Group Virtual Crime Center allows you more than an edge in crime fighting.

The Police Are Not the Judge & Jury, They Only Uphold the Laws

The Police Are Not the Judge
& Jury, They Only Uphold the Laws
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group - Virtual Crime Center

Sir Robert Peels' Nine Peelian Principles:

#5     To seek and preserve public favour, not by pandering to public opinion, but by constantly demonstrating absolutely impartial service to law, in complete independence of policy, and without regard to the justice or injustice of the substance of individual laws, by ready offering of individual service and friendship to all members of the public without regard to their wealth or social standing, by ready exercise of courtesy and friendly good humour, and by ready offering of individual sacrifice in protecting and preserving life.

This #5 Peelian Principle is the heart and soul in terms of separating policing from political influence. Public indulgence is maintained not by providing to the wants and needs of interest groups in our society but rather by complete and total impartial service to the law.

Each and every one of us is considered equal before the law and through observance of the rule of impartiality, the police can make that a reality.

Police policies must not only be autonomous of political influence and they cannot and should not be over-ridden by political agendas. Police policy must provide equivalence of service to all citizens.

The factual test of the fairness of a system is the ability to get the identical service and treatment despite the fact that you have no political connections.

This separation of politics and policy does not imply that politicians cannot provide policy direction. It simply means that once the policy has been put in place there should be no attempt by politicians to influence outcomes or interject themselves into situations on a case by case basis. To do so would “pierce the sacred veil of operations”, the veil being the invisible barrier that separates political decision-making from operational decision making.

It is stated loud and clear by many, that the police must refrain from being publicly critical of prevailing legislation. The role of the police is to enforce laws, not to criticize legislation. The police must also refrain from criticizing judicial decisions as doing so undermines the administration of justice.

Criticism of the law and judicial decisions, especially in terms of sentencing decisions, reveals a glaring lack of their understanding of the police role in the criminal justice system. If police officers are not able to accept that at a personal level that they will not agree with some judicial decision then they are in the wrong line of work. Not only will it cause frustration, it may also lead to flawed decision-making and differential treatment of members of the public.

It is particularly bothersome when senior police executives don’t understand their role and make a public comment critical of judicial decisions. Police executives certainly have a role to play in this regard but it should not be one of offering criticism in an open forum. They have access to politicians both on an individual basis and through advocacy organization such as associations of chiefs of police at both the provincial and federal level which afford the opportunity to air their concerns and make recommendations for change.

This #5 Peelian Principle also makes it clear that individual wealth and social standing should not affect the level of service citizens receive from police.

Because these principles were written in the early 1800’s, race is not mentioned as British society at that time was not racially diverse. In modern society, the delivery of police services and race has become an issue and police service delivery must not only be blind in terms of wealth and social standing, it must also be color blind.

The last facet of this #5 Peelian Principle addresses the readiness to make individual sacrifices to protect and preserve life. Police agencies have an obligation to create a safe workplace for police officers through training, policy, procedures and especially the use of the latest technology and appropriate equipment.

It must be recognized that some aspects of police work are inherently dangerous. This principle addresses the issue of officer safety from the perspective of ensuring that procedures do not become so restrictive that the safety of citizens is negatively affected.

CommSmart Global Group, a LexisNexis Risk Solution Partner believe firmly that Sir Robert Peel’s Nine Peelian Principles stand firm today after 187 years of existence.  Of course, there are differences and the main one is the use of technology alongside these principles.  That is why we will introduce the 10th Peelian Principle at the conclusion of this series.

Social media interactions are so important and CommSmart Global Group, a LexisNexis Risk Solutions Partner understand the finger & thumbs approach of communicating using for calls for action of the public.

There lies a massive improvement of the approval of the public, they have a direct link without dialing digits.  They hide behind a Smartphone or tablet/computer screen and the dialogue is honest, deceiving and all with information that was never there before.

Union & Corporate Bullies...

Union Thugs & Corporate Ignorant Bullies
and Their Yes Men and Women,
Say No To These Fools…

Corporate & Union bullies surround themselves with YES men and women.  They instill fear and those that were subjected to those disgusting tactics and fail to stand-up for themselves.

CommSmart Global not only stands up to those fools, we expose and tear them down!

Being the CEO of a company some say it is an issue as you are too close to your original dream and cannot see the wood for the trees.

I recognize that, and fully understand I am not the exception to the rule. Owners and management who work under the misguided bullying rule-book, your days are numbered as are your yes men and women, you surrounded yourself with.  Your House of Cards is tilting, crumbling and will come down, leaving you with nothing more than a total mess and you will wonder why!

If you think Jericho was bad, wait and hear the sound, as the horns of honesty trumpet your demise.

When a company owner, through their spineless attorney, makes statements like this, when firing or severing a working relationship, “XXXX is under no legal, ethical or moral obligation to explain or justify its decision to sever its relationship with you.”  They want to control you whilst you work for them but are total cowards in announcing their method of disregard for you.

How many of you are working in those conditions and fearful of
your future or just going to work?

The signs of the professional madness of these so-called corporate leaders are very evident once you uncover their façade. For example, they speak to their fellow management at cross purposes, saying one thing and immediately doing another.  They are consistent in a failed leadership role, it shows as some executives find an aggressive style helps them claw their way to the top, but they often can't sustain their reign.

The fact is, the King is in the Altogether Naked in front of those he or she abused! Stripping them BARE and showing the real unsightly object they really are in front of all is the final action that just might make them see the error of their ways.  Sadly that is only a wish in most cases.

We all know our fair share of those corporate bullies--the managers who abuse power, yell, harass and micromanage their way through life. Usually, their office antics breed resentment, sabotage, "mental health days" costly turnover of staff.

But some executives infamous for their abrasive styles--the Steve Jobs, Harvey Weinstein and Barry Diller of the world--are addressed as luminaries, breaths of fresh air for their stale industries.  Really!  Weinstein is a proven issue!

So what separates the sadists from the prodigies? In short, as stated by some, it is the silver-backed gorilla.

Sadists toss their weight around unreasonably and relish the chance to watch underlings squirm. In contrast, the silver-backed gorilla will beat his chest, break branches, flashing his teeth and charge--but all in the interest of protecting his troop. He secures food, mediates conflicts and provides safety, so lesser gorillas put up with his antics. Forbes magazine stated it is his fictional counterpart who is Don Corleone. In corporate America, it may be Martha Stewart. Mind you those that are looking at her on (Match.com), might need to know this.

Of course, Stewart spent five months in prison, and Don Corleone got gunned down in the street. These power players may find an aggressive style helps them claw to the top, but they often can't sustain their reign, although Martha has been a great re-inventor.

Bullying leaders rise in part because they are unwilling to compromise. They are committed to--and unremittingly protective of--their vision and make large companies move with the speed of small ones.  We just witnessed this and am glad of the experience before we jumped into the King size waterbed with them as most probably downed when it springs its guaranteed leak.

These are people who are very abrupt in fighting for their vision, they push people aside who are too conservative or 'just don't get it.' But they also attract--and are very protective of--their followers.  Who are either oblivious to what they got themselves into and eventually, in a short period see the leader as the bully and leave.

When bullying is so entrenched in the organization's culture that it becomes an acceptable way to manage and/or do business. The organizational attributes, policies, accepted practices foster this environment.   For example, a 'win at all costs' culture fosters an environment where the method of achieving success is not questioned.  This creates a culture where managers and peers are not held accountable for the acts of incivility that occur on a regular and accepted basis.

There are many definitions of workplace bullying.  We define it as REPEATED unreasonable actions of individuals (or a group of individuals) directed towards an employee (or a group of employees), which are intended to humiliate, degrade, embarrass, intimidate, or undermine; or which creates a risk to the safety or health of the employee(s). Workplace Bullying is exhibited by peers and managers and can be linked to relationships of informal and formal forms of power in the workplace.

How is this different from harassment?

Bullying certainly looks and feels like harassment. It is harassing, as commonly understood (defined as systematic, annoying, and continued actions which include threats and demands; creating a hostile situation by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct).

But at work, harassment is a special term. Often, workplace harassment connotes sexual misconduct and a hostile work environment. State and federal civil rights laws are designed to protect workers from discriminatory, disparate mistreatment. If, and ONLY IF, you are a member of a protected status (grounds) group -- there are 7 in the U.S. and 11 in Canada -- (e.g., gender, race, religion, ethnicity, etc.), and you have been mistreated by a person who is NOT a member of a protected group, you might be able to claim that you were harassed.

This is going on in all lines of work and is costing people their health and their relationships.  It is standing firm and legally fighting these situations and beginning to understand that these bullying, arrogant individuals will come a cropper and fall from chance.  You have to wonder what their social life is about, who they associate with and who may be their partner is.  Is that person suffering the same grief as employees?  Maybe they are like-minded and are two peas in a pod and may they be happy in their sordid abusive ways.

Look at your workplace, management, and co-workers now with fresh eyes and stand tall.  These people can and will go away, do not let them take you with them.

Those without ethics are doomed and I wish to say thank you to certain individuals who showed their rears, not a pretty sight, to our company and their threats are welcomed and will be viewed and judged in the public arena.

Knowledge is power in the right hands, take a grasp of your life!

We are in the NOW and
KEEP YOU; in the KNOW…

Harnessing The Sordid Power Of Social Media

Harnessing The Sordid Power Of Social Media
by Nick Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

Information gathering has been with us in one form or another since time began.  News or a simulation of the news could take weeks and months to travel the globe.  Its content was not always how the teller of the tale exactly stated it.  Embellishment was rife and the true facts were lost in translation.

In fact, the story is still true today.  We have gone from smoke signals and grunts to violent news from the streets, which has been attributed to the overthrow of nations and then the significant hatred from behind a computer screen and keyboard.

All at the speed of the Internet of Things!

I found last years comment at Facebook HQ by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi fascinating as he hailed the political power of social media.

"To leaders all over the world: you are not going to gain by running away from social media,"

Speaking at Facebook's campus in Menlo Park, Mr. Modi said: "The strength of social media today is that it can tell governments where they are wrong and can stop them from moving in the wrong direction."

"We used to have elections every five years and now we can have them every five minutes,"
he added.

This is true for listed corporations, SME's and the family.

It is the information age of NOW! Like body parts, everyone has an opinion and many are just that. Not true facts, but opinions and those that read these muses must remember that everything you read on the Internet is not TRUE!

Having business partners and associates in India and me being a Brit, I know the story of the political struggle that India has gone through for the last sixty years. At last, they have leadership that is bringing the strength of India to the worldwide stage.

We at CommSmart Global embrace Frugal Innovation and see the opportunity for all on a global footing.

Mr. Modi said he wanted to connect all India's villages to the internet - around a billion Indians currently lack internet access.

Facebook says its internet.org project, which offers free access to a bundle of mobile phone web apps, can help get the developing world online.

Mr. Modi's previous tour of Silicon Valley included meetings with top officials from Apple, Google, and other companies.

CommSmart Global see India as a major commercial opportunity in both directions and we have already introduced Frugal Innovations to corporate America and Europe.

The worldwide connections we have are much more than smoke signals, they are the reality to secure all users of the Internet of Things (IoT). Each user has his own world, a repository where he or she wishes to grasp information securely, with plenty of bandwidths and across all platforms and devices.

The fears of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) are gone!

No more passwords to be stolen and a free flow of sharing information for business and family.

This is truly removing the sordid side of social media and placing Trusted Devices in the hands of all.
