Regal, Royalty, Reality & Positive Results Now Let’s Cut The Crap!

Regal, Royalty, Reality & Positive Results
Now Let’s Cut The Crap!
By Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

America’s inauguration of their 45th President heralded the return to sanity and security which will and must return a social and economic return to the American Dream!

We, CommSmart Global Group and our LexisNexis Risk Solutions Partnership will and have not change.  Our passion for fighting the increased crime and decreased social camaraderie is continuing and has been recognized in the content of President Donald J. Trump speech and is reflected.

Specifically:

“These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public. But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists. Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities, rusted-out factories, scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation, an education system flush with cash but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge. And the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

This American carnage stops right here and stops right now. We are one nation and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans. For many decades, we have enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry, subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military.

We have defended other nations' borders while refusing to defend our own. And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay. We've made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country have dissipated over the horizon.”

Let us cut to the chase and remove the crap, American cities and their residents have been held hostage by crime, criminals, drug lords and a government that has continued to turn a blind eye with non-support of the law enforcement infrastructure. Law enforcement agencies have borne the brunt of a society that saw their uniform as a symbol of a demonic government.

In fact, this infectious mindset has spread globally and Europe and the United Kingdom is suffering in the same manner and it will stop!

As a straight talking global organization, we have never backed off what our capabilities are and proven on a daily basis in fighting crime proactively, solving the issues, with the street smarts of officers, detectives, and management with a simple integration of cybercrime analysis, predictive analytics and social media scraping technology and all using the principles of policing.

We welcome the attention that President Donald J. Trump brings to the issues of global society.  We, CommSmart Global Group and our global talented team have and will not change!

When you know you have the testicular fortitude to succeed, you voice it, shout from the highest mountaintop, vocally informing all and using the social tools in a positive manner.

Yes, if the President of the United States can use Twitter and 140 characters as we do, then communicate with us.  Ask questions, listen and listen carefully as we know we have the solutions to changing the landscape of society and the criminal overcast skies.

We are concise, do not procrastinate and waste time in meeting after meeting.

WE solidly know our objectives and will accomplish those that are demanded to bring society back to where it should have never wandered from due to inept global leadership.  Not just from a technology perspective, as we have the experience of policing within our team, in fact, all are ex-law enforcement from the United Kingdom and America.

President Trump finished his speech with these words that we stand by:

“The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action. Do not allow anyone to tell you that it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America. We will not fail.

There is no one that has the ability to change policing in both America and the United Kingdom and have the proven cost-effective Transformation Policing Plan and tools to do so.  We have taken 21 years to reach this point and will continue doing what we do best, solving the issues logically and protecting all.

Sir Robert Peel, 188 years stated his Nine Peelian Principles, (the Policeman’s Bible) and with the tenth principle, which has been developed and implemented by us, makes the difference.

It takes one extra step, for you to open your mind and comprehend that no-one knows it all, together we can and will radically get back to whence we came and bring a new level of that peace of mind to our society.

Bringing back Trust & Respect to all.

Remember, “The People are the Police and the Police are the People”.

Wrong Police Image - Good Work Ruined By One Ignoramus Officer and His Supervisor’s Excuse

Wrong Police Image
Good Work Ruined By One
Ignoramus Officer and His Supervisor’s Excuse
By Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

The upfront work of a Police Chief in bringing attention to a heroin drug issues in his city has been tarnished by one police officer moron of a county-wide drug task force.

When you, your corporation and global law enforcement clients know you have the solutions to reduce crime, increase a professional work environment and make proactivity #1 in all agency departments, you reach out and discuss with those with major issues and expect to be listened to.

It was the discussion within, with all of our team that has led to this Blog today.  Normally, our team reads what I have written at the same time you do.  Today is different, it is after all a rolling event moving through our minds and analyzing all that occurred, that has this final blog.

After speaking with the city concerned in the heroin, they directed me to the county drug task force in Ohio, I called and received this response.

The man who answered, grunted ‘hello’, I mean grunted like a caveman.  When in shock I asked who this was he stated or grunted, ‘Bret or Brent’, nigh on unintelligible.  I started to explain that I needed to find out who I was required to speak with and assist, he responded, ‘I don’t have time’ and hung up!
This was the county drug task force a frontline agency that is wanting help from the public and should be a communication haven.

Instead, you get an officer who does not have time!

I called back to the number, which rang and rang and went to voicemail, they have my message which was direct, straight talking and contained disgust from me of the limited interaction that took place.  The man should not be talking to anyone who calls in, or in fact, he has proved this by his grunts and limited communication skills should not even be employed in this position.

I called the Police Chief and wished to express my disgust in how my interaction with the task force had occurred.  I was put through, explain the incident and his voice and reply was one his of shock.  He apologized, which he did not have to do, it was not one of his direct officers.  I told the Chief I was not letting go of this, praised him for the handling of the heroin incident and the public posting which has become the center of global attention which needs to be built upon.

The next call I received was a Sergeant of the county drug task force.  He explained he was responding to message left on their voicemail.  I explained what had taken place.  He then raised an excuse on why the man responded to me in the manner in which he did. ‘The man has issues and it was not a good day’.

WHAT!

If as his supervisor you know your frontline telephone was being manned by a person with problems, then the sergeant failed in his supervisory duty.  There lies the main issue in law enforcement and the corporate world, it is a cultural issue.

Excuses are not what we want to hear.

Did this man really have issues just that day or was this something that is part of his make-up.  Others are used to his attitude and tend to ignore and move on.

I do not!

The sergeant then passes me off to his boss, which was a voicemail and I left a message, which a call has not be returned to me as of this writing.

I also received a call from the Sheriff of the county, who I explained the incident to.  Honestly, he did not get what had happened or what we were talking about.  This is a major issue and management is not functioning to resolve.  Do they even want to resolve these problems or has it become a day to day event that they cannot handle?

It is amazing that policing under the Nine Peelian Principles is about communicating.

Even in 1829, they had a better understanding who the police are and their duties to the communities.  It seems we have been frozen in time and lack the understanding that collectively there are solutions and the ‘people are the police and police are the people’.

We do not write or speak just to hear my own or corporate voice!  WE have proven global solutions.  Law enforcement is not the be all and end all of knowing it all!

Enterprise has a contribution to make and must listen too.
Crime and social issues are killing us, ruining lives and some think they know it all, you don’t and we don’t.  What we do know is, there is a help, stop turning it down and closing your minds.  It will be the demise of you and society as we know it!

CommSmart Global Group, a LexisNexis Risks Solutions Partner, developed Atmospherics for use in military theaters of engagement some twelve years ago, with immense live saving success.

Now it is available for law enforcement agencies with even more capabilities with proven success.  As a LexisNexis Risk Solutions Partner, it has afforded us all a stream of current public data and information at levels only dreamed of by others.

Law enforcement agencies are collecting so much information across their regions, which when left in a data silo are useless.

Crime Analytics, Mapping, Predictive Analysis and importantly the foundation of Intelligence Gathering, Social Media Monitoring has been honed by CommSmart Global Group and is a global force in professional crime solving.
Now at the fingertips of those that protect and serve.  Law enforcement is people and people are the police and vice versa.

It is the CommSmart way to present our information to you or through our Super 1829 Symposiums which are powerful mentoring and coaching full day events.

Law enforcement has radically changed since the days of Sir Robert Peel and his Nine Peelian Principles, though, they are the basis of policing and when connected to strategic technology and change agency, times change for the betterment of all, this includes of course community and law enforcement agencies.

There is never ‘something for nothing’!

There is never ‘something for nothing’!
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

There is always a cost in one direction or another and we have all been duped with slick advertisements, offers and pure lies by suppliers and advertisers.
Anything connected to cyber that is offered totally free means one of two things:
  • They cannot market or sell it, due to quality and effectiveness
  • It is not really free as it will cost you in lack of ability and the end results

The internet has given rise to an overabundance of erudite and addictive free options. But it comes with a price tag.

Even Facebook is not really free!

A perfect example is a Spanish tapas which are a global gastronomic phenomenon that can be enjoyed in all parts of the world. It is the ‘social snack’ often served for free every time you buy a beer a tasty form of content marketing’, which draws you and disguises the cheap beer or surroundings which entice you to stay longer and spend more on overpriced cheap beer.

In other words: It is not really free. It’s pure social marketing, customer retention and often an excuse to increase the price of your half diluted excuse for a beer.
Those are the marketplace forces of capitalism and not an eventful happy hour.

In every business, there must be a transaction of some kind of value. Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, Snapchat and all free news media and so on, are no different than tapas.

So is IBM and their I2 Cop Link, which is a data analytic toolset that manipulates the crime data of departments and interlinks all.  Or supposedly!

Here is the USA we know IBM’s tactics oh so well.  They purchased Cop Link and promised great things that never materialized with a product that is far from exciting in its failure in its ability.  Example as an end user to set up the necessary systems and translations of data is extremely costly and not FREE!  It does not have a toolset that has pure unabashed Link Analysis which, I may say in our AVCC solution is faultless in searching for information at one fell swoop in seconds.

Sorry enough of my annoyance that they would try to entice people with ’FREE!

Free or Freemium is not the actual price, but a way to catch you off guard. Be rest assured, a cost and payment will fall somewhere else down the road. It is in the ability in failing to deliver the end results that you require and demand to solve the crime with analytic toolsets.  Might look snazzy to the eye and a screen full of information, but is it the real information that has been searched, checked and secured?

When the price is zero, it is a totally completely different market than if the price was one British pound or American dollar.

It is either an add-on sale or lack of real content that is the concern. With some freebies, there now enters the invisible third party. Without much disturbance, you will have a secret new party involved in the transaction. The middle man of the digital ménage à trois is moving the cash register out of your view. You don’t know him. But he knows everything about you. Or more to the point, your data.  They will now sell you ancillary services such as ‘Cloud Storage’, as you are hooked and believe you need them and cannot live without them.  Sadly they are just like the original, lacking in capability and content.  If you have never looked and reviewed other capable products you would never know the difference.

Take off the Blinkers and do not be hoodwinked!

In effect this mean that you are not the customer, you are the product in a highly lucrative cyber business.

That is IBM and I2 Cop Link!

The product is the information we voluntarily tap into, one service after another for the enrichment of endless databases better known as big data.
It is complicated topography for doing business even for Facebook and the other big corporations but it seems that most of the digital economy will depend on this model one way or another.

The main currency in data collection is trust but it can be hard to actually see through the mechanisms that decide the price thus undermining classic economic certainties.

We might as well get used to that kind of business in the digital economy. A lot of new everyday products will be possible because of free. But to run a business based on free it should be worth every penny or red cent for the end users.
Someone has to pay for the development and operation of some of the advanced digital opportunities. One thing is for sure; it is not free to have 12,000 employees at Facebook or 57,000 at Google.

Even ourselves and the Group which serves customers in more than 180 countries and has offices in about 40 countries. Employing approximately 30,000 people of whom half are in North America, know nothing is free!
So the sale of data is, therefore, our business. And once that is your business model the only way to improve the business is to gather even more data about users. It is an art form to be able to manipulate the data for clients and law enforcement globally, having down-to-earth toolsets within our Accurint Virtual Crime Center and Social Media Scraping/Monitoring which is second to none and NOT FREE!

And this is where there is still a vast difference between us, tapas and IBM I2 Cop Link.

It is not enough to be just consumed around the world, you must be able to collect all sorts of information about users at a scale that can be done only digitally, precisely and compliantly, having an analytic toolset to exact the information in a format that produces ‘the results’.

The ease of operation for street level police officer usage starts with a Dashboard, which brings all the crime data to a single screen on a Smartphone, tablet or computer screen.  Knowing your prior historical events before the shift briefing maximizes efficiency for all.  These dashboards can be updated and change as you personally wish.

For a safety factor, the access to all data/information by a single name or address is right in the palm of your hand.  No more ‘Go Fish’ for information with phone calls and faxed information.  It is productivity personified!

21 years ago our entrance into Digital Policing started!  Progressed with our law enforcement capabilities and developed analytics tools that grasped the eye of law enforcement agencies and the U.S. Department of Defense with our unique ‘predictive analytical tools’.  Which was purchased by DoD and used in Iraq & Afghanistan for predicting roadside IEDs.  Working with British & American troops, saving an extraordinary amount of lives. This working environment allowed us to hone our skills which had to be, no demanded to be, precise, as lives were at stake.

All within in the team are ex-law enforcement from differing divisions, we have an overall perspective of crime today and the methods being used to attempt to control the ever growing issues.  This also includes a remarkable ‘Red Tagged’ team of computer engineers who know so much regarding the Dark web and White and Black Hat Hacking.

Our extraordinary talented worldwide team has developed and implements:

  • Community crime mapping
  • Crime analytics
  • Predictive analysis
  • Social Media Scraping/monitoring
  • Data Access with used databases
  • Facial Recognition for Stop, Interview, Process (SIP)
  • Implementation
  • Full Professional Services For Coaching/Mentoring

The economy of the digital volume game often begins with a great free party with an amazing happy hour. But as economist and Nobel laureate Milton Friedman wrote before the Internet was born:

“As with tapas, you may score a nice lovely meal for free. But the expensive beer can leave you with some serious hangovers.”

We do not sell you a hangover, we bring smiles to the officers, analysts, management, support staff and importantly, the victims and their families with the satisfaction in knowing we have completed the tasks to the best of our ability and won the day.

Let us raise a glass and converse!

Oh, make it a cup of coffee, you will understand why!

Using Public Wi-Fi Hotspots Is Burning Your Personal Data and Infecting The Corporate Servers

Using Public Wi-Fi Hotspots Is Burning Your
Personal Data and Infecting The Corporate Servers
THEN THERE IS YOUR FLIMSY PASSWORD!
By Nicholas Ashton. CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

Stupid is, as Stupid Does!

This is a plain and simple message and very, to the point!

Why would you use a Public Wi-Fi Hotspot, connect, transmit and be sending it to your corporate servers without security?

Why?

How many times have you been warned?  It seems we are impersonating Leemings in all we do with our computer based devices.  Oh, I forgot, it is the human element and the Macho Resilience that makes you believe, it will never happen to you!

As you boarded the train, boat or plane to come to work, go to an exhibition or trade show, did you start using your Smart Mobile Phone, Tablet or Laptop?  Of course, you did!  You used the Wi-Fi Hotspot to save on the data charges and did not even check if you had security, did you?  A little a secret, you are not alone!

Millions never set up the security on the Wi-Fi at home or in the office and of course, you never set the security on your other devices, do you?

I know, I am not always happy with IT departments and those that work within.  Please give them a fighting chance in the cyber terrorism!  They may be behind in fixing the situations and then you add to the mire!

Ignorance is not an excuse in understanding the whole business, every nook, and cranny.  Sorry CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s and Company Secretaries, you have failed for far too long, in understanding that the computer data is the lifeblood of the company.

You have not learned the language of the IT department and there is no Rosetta Stone that will bring you up to speed.  Believe it or not, IT Managers do speak English and only speak Gookese to maintain their job security.  It has been like this since the Burrough’s Card Readers and the day you hired them.  It is passed from geek to geek and they no know other way.  That is until you confront them, shake their hand and pull them in your meetings, regarding the business of the day.  Oh, and you all speak English!

Companies are … sorry, the hired help and board are failing the company, shareholders, clients and importantly the customers.  Why, simply by ignoring the computer risks from the Hacker, Phisher, Man in the Middle Brutal Attackers.

The computer lowlifes, cyber terrorists, scum, and criminals!

All departments within a company are as important as each other.  That includes what you do not understand or comprehend.  The hires need to buy the book on IT Departments and Preventing Cybercrime for Dummies or …

RED TAGGED is the other alternative…

Passwords are crippling you, that is so old fashion that the cybercriminals are making so much money from the failure of humans.  It is about DEVICE DNA and we can assist as we have perfected it.

It is not too late to remove the issues and stop you from negating your Duty of Care/Corporate Governance and placing your company in a libelous situation, which even includes the hires…

WE are in the NOW and
KEEP YOU; in the KNOW…

The Police, Protesters & Politics

The Police, Protesters & Politics
by Nicholas Ashton, CEO/CIO, CommSmart Global Group

Commendations to law enforcement.  You listened, acted and succeeded in excellent protection of the protesters, community and your law enforcement officers.

Having the soft approach in (QRF), Quick Response Force tactics worked as it what we train departments in and for.

Congratulations!

It has become a 'Them & Us' situation and the in-fighting on both sides must cease!

As a company that understands the inner workings of law enforcement better than most, if not even better, we must step back and reflect on what 'bad tricks' have been passed on by the old dogs.

We are asking too much of officers on the front line of society.  They are expected to wear too many hats in split decision situations.

CommSmart Global Group has dedicated itself to bringing the tools that are required and demanded to make our communities and officers safer again.

From our original days in the 1970's:

  • Protecting people from the effects of bomb blast and flying glass
  • Counter terrorism
  • Protest and violent demonstration global QRF training
  • Police dog tracking/detection training
  • Crime Mapping, Analytics & Predictive Analysis
  • Social Media Scraping/Monitoring
  • Corporate fraud
  • Cybercrime
  • Cyber Archaeology/Anthropology
  • Human Resource understanding and solutions
  • Diversity & Change
No one knows better than our team, using our empathetic know-how.

It is all revolving around information, data and skills to manipulate the vast silos of information.  To the point on data and information, it has a 'sell by date', it is only valuable when you use it in a time conscious means.

That is what we do, we have the means to supply the connections to all information at the click of a button, right to the palm of the hand of the street officers and detectives who demand current information across agency borders and regionally.

Law enforcement management now have the crime fighting tools within their crime fighting stable.
